Several Bolles students achieved top fundraising honors in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s annual Student of the Year campaign in Jacksonville.

The LLS Life Savers Team, led by Bolles seniors Sofia Caron ’21, Catherine Kunz ’21 and Sophia Mitchell ’21, raised more than $82,000 through their fundraising efforts and were named the Jacksonville 2021 Students of the Year. Anna Marie Vohs '21 participated as a team member on the LLS Life Savers team and raised more than any other team member in the program – earning her the title of Jacksonville’s Team Member of the Year and $17,000 for LLS. Aarushi Sinha '22 led her team, Kickin’ Cancer, to raise $16,733 for the organization.

Every dollar The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) receives is directed to research for cures, patient education and advocacy for families dealing with cancer.

“The funds raised help us in our quest to fund the most promising cancer research while being the #1 resource for families dealing with blood cancer from diagnosis to remission,” said LLS North Florida Campaign Development Manager Anna Rushing. “These efforts come from forward-thinking supporters like Sofia, Sophia, Catherine, Anna Marie and Aarushi.”

LLS’ campaign efforts in Northeast Florida yielded more than $660,000 for the organization’s fight to cure cancer.
