Bolles Students Participate in State Chinese Competition

Fourteen Chinese language students from Bolles participated in the 15th Annual Chinese Statewide Competition held January 31 - February 1 in Leesburg. The students, accompanied by Chinese teachers Cheng-mei Rothschild and Ying Li, garnered the team championship in the Chinese Culture Jeopardy game, marking the fifth time Bolles has earned this prestigious title. All students competed in Speaking, Listening, and Reading at their respective levels and performed exceptionally well at the competition. Ten of the 14 students earned the highest award in one or multiple categories!

The following students took part in the competition: Fapianey Alexandre ’21, Lindsey Blisko ’22, Ryan Cook ’21, Meagan Donovan ’21, Cormac Kimberly ’23, Faith Khoo ’21, Joseph Libby ’21, Lara Morello ’21, Ian Peiris ’22, Julia Peiris ’22, Dennis Rao ’20, Sam Stankard ’22, Oberon Theam ’20 and Zachary Yu ’21. Alexandre, Morello, Ian Peiris and Julia Peiris comprised victorious team in the Jeopardy competition.
