Bolles Serves Up Inaugural Middle School Tennis Team
The Bolles School is serving up a new level for the tennis program with the inaugural middle school team in 2024. Led by Coach Francesca Fusinato, who also serves as the varsity girls’ coach, the 2024 coed team included 12 eager players. The season produced a 3-1 record, highlighted by an 8-0 win over Episcopal in the program’s first-ever match.
“Our first season as a Bolles middle school tennis team was a true success,” Fusinato said. “It wouldn’t have been possible without the support and participation of the parents and the determination and enthusiasm of the young players. The passion, dedication and commitment they brought to the program was outstanding during both practices and matches. Their sense of belonging to this team fueled each practice with positivity and great work ethic. It led to a healthy competitive spirit and pride in representing Bolles in every match they played.”
The middle school team has created a continuum in the growth of the tennis program across all ages. Bolles began its partnership with Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) in 2014 to provide world-class tennis programming alongside quality education and character development. The program continues to thrive under the leadership of current Director of Tennis Claudio Pistolesi.
“Now tennis is offered from PreK to the upper school,” said Pistolesi. “This is how we create a legacy of tennis for Bolles.”
