Bolles Science Expo Showcases Innovation

More than 100 middle and upper school student researchers shared 90 projects at the annual Bolles Science Expo December 9. This is the second year the Science Expo has been held in the Frank R. Sanchez & Hope and Dana E. Fender Center for Innovation, which opened last school year on the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus.

A more comprehensive approach to an annual science fair, the event included displays of research projects from students in the Mayo Clinic SPARK program and upper school students in Honors and AP Biology as well as middle schoolers in the Science Club. Other science and technology classes and clubs held demonstrations, including 3D CAD design and printing and robotics.

This year’s Expo expanded beyond exhibits, pairing hands-on science with real-world insights through Innovation Day—a series of alumni-led lunch-and-learns on AI, medicine, engineering, healthcare and public health held after the showcase concluded. Learn more about Innovation Day here
