Bolles Robotics Teams Excel at Regionals

Four Bolles robotics teams from three campuses enjoyed continued success at the North Florida Regional FIRST LEGO League Championship, held February 29 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

Students competed for more than 12 hours and brought home several awards and some teams are moving on to the state and global competitions:

  • Bolles the Builders, one of the FLL Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus teams, won both a 1st place Programming Award as well as a bid to the State Championship.
  • Bolles Arc-E-Techs, the other FLL Bartram team, also won a bid to States.
  • Team Gigaflops, a FLL team on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus, won 2nd Place in Robot Design and a bid to the State Championship.
  • The “FBI,” or Future Bolles Innovators, one of the FLL teams on the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus, won 1st Place Research Award as well as the prestigious Global Innovation Award. They have a chance to win $20,000 to make their project become a reality in St. Johns County.
  • The Bolles RoboPups, the FLL Junior team on the Whitehurst Campus, won the Cooperative Programming Award.
  • Thanks to the glowing commendations of our two Bartram teams, middle school Coach Gabi Fudge won the “Coach of the Year” award of Northeast Florida.
