Bolles Gets Global for International Education Week

The Bolles International Student Union hosted International Education Week events November 14-18 on the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus. International Education Week was established by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education with the objective to encourage domestic and international students to engage and learn from each other.

Bulldogs participated in the following activities:

Monday, November 14: Rock Painting

Students spent Activities in the Meditation Garden painting rocks in vibrant ways to reflect their cultures. The painted rocks were then displayed throughout the garden.

Tuesday, November 15: International Trivia Competition

Bulldogs squared off with their teachers for a lively International Trivia Competition in the Chahlavi Center for Global Learning & Engagement.

Wednesday, November 16: “Bolles Students Stick Together”

Each participating student placed a sticky note where they are from or from where they associate on the world map in Ulmer Hall.

Thursday, November 17: “Slang and Snacks from Around the World”

CAP… ¡No manches!... Niu bai! Students learned and shared slang from around the world in the Chahlavi Center.

Friday, November 18: Food Trucks and World Cup Kick-off

Upper school students enjoyed music and international food trucks during Activities and through both lunches. The highlight of the day was a penalty kick competition between grade levels and faculty members to kick off the World Cup. The seniors won the competition, earning spirit points for the Class of 2023!
