Bolles Expands Lower School Student Success Program
This school year, the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach and Whitehurst Campuses significantly expanded the Student Success program—tripling the number of learning specialists on each campus. The initiative underscores Bolles’ dedication to tailored, high-impact instruction for every student.

Each campus previously had one dedicated learning specialist. This year, that number has grown to three—one supporting Pre-K through Grade 1, another focused on Grades 2-3 and a third working with Grades 4-5. This structure allows for more personalized attention across developmental stages, while also providing teachers with valuable support in designing differentiated instruction. Whether reinforcing foundational skills or extending learning for students ready to go further, the expanded team is already making a meaningful difference.

Whitehurst Campus Head Dr. Christy Lusk describes the change as profound. “Having three specialists on campus means we can proactively support every learner’s unique pathway,” she said. “Our dedicated learning specialists are immersed in our instructional blocks of time within the classroom setting – allowing the student/teacher ratio to be significantly lowered on a daily basis.”

Ponte Vedra Beach Campus Head Suzanne Carlino said the impact is equally evident with her students. “From literacy boosts to creative math challenges, our specialists are helping shape lessons that meet students exactly where they are,” she said.

This expansion is part of Bolles’ broader commitment to continuous improvement and individualized learning. With a stronger network of support in place, teachers and specialists are working together to enrich classroom experiences and deepen the School’s culture of personalized learning.
