Bolles School logo

The Bolles Ethics Bowl team has been working hard this year and performed well in the inaugural First Coast High School Ethics Bowl competition, held February 2 at the University of North Florida.

Coached by Kim Dividu and Dr. Jeff Yeakel, the team includes:

Oliver Barakat ’19

Caroline Clements ’19

Julian Crosby ’19

Brianna Ellis ’19

Angela Sun ’19

Nina Zhao ’21

The team scored judges victories over teams from Stanton and Douglas Anderson high schools, as well as a points victory over Bartram Trail. The Bolles team finished fourth place overall in the region. Coaches said the team exhibited depth in their arguments and a diversity of perspectives on each of the issues.

The ethics bowl promotes ethical awareness and collaborative critical thinking in a competitive environment. Students have the opportunity to research and analyze contemporary real world ethical issues, which culminates with presentations of their findings and critical engagement with other teams and judges.
