Bolles Collection Delivered to Haiti Contact

Students on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus spent several weeks collecting items for victims of the earthquake in Haiti and their donations recently arrived at the intended recipient.

The drive was organized by Grade 2 teacher Dr. Jaime Swartz. She directed collected items to a friend with Haitian ties who was filling a container for the country’s residents. Families and students in every grade level responded to the call with open hearts and much generosity. Kindergarten students were excited to have collected an entire box full of items and support was similar campus-wide. The mountainous collection of household items, linens and products arrived at her friend Rosiane’s house this week.

“She was dumfounded and thrilled by the amount of donations we received,” Swartz said, adding she was grateful to all Bulldogs for their support. “It was a huge success.”

The collection is specifically supporting the residents of La Gonave through the contact's ministry, Hope for Bethesda.
