What began as a Grade 6 service project on the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus expanded to include the Bolles boarding community, resulting in hundreds of donated linens for the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

As part of the middle school’s annual Zoo Collaboration project, sixth graders and Bartram Campus faculty collected gently used blankets and towels for animal care and enrichment. Throughout the collection, students learned not only about conservation and animal welfare but also how small acts of service can make a meaningful impact.

The effort expanded when Bartram Campus P.E. teacher and dorm parent Maddie Lee identified another source of donations during end-of-year dorm move-out. Boarding students had sheets, comforters, blankets and towels they no longer needed, and many of the items would otherwise have been discarded.

Instead, dorm parents spent move-out weekend collecting and bagging the linens so they could be added to the Bartram Campus donation drive. The additional donations ensured even more blankets, towels and bedding could find a new home at the Jacksonville Zoo. #BulldogsInspiringGoodness
