April Enriched by Back-to-Back Cultural Weeks

Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus students participated in back-to-back cultural weeks in April: India Week (April 8-12) and Arabic Week (April 15-19).

Members of the Bolles India Club hosted a slate of activities, including Bollywood dancing, cricket and rangoli art. The club also held a bake sale with samosas and chai and celebrated Holi by throwing powder color in honor of the Hindu Festival of Colors.

The Arabic Club was up next, arranging opportunities for upper school students to sample traditional Arab sweets and tea, learn Arabic calligraphy, get temporary henna tattoos and try out darbouka drums. Bulldogs also learned the basics of belly dancing and the dabke from Bouchra Benchaaboune in Lynch Theater.

Thank you to the students from both clubs for their hard work in putting together these meaningful weeks to celebrate cultures and connect across campus!
