Afghan Refugee Collection a Success

Sophomore Kayleigh Kasinger ’24, who led a supplies drive for Lutheran Social Services in support of Afghan refugees, recently delivered donations she helped collect from the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus community.

She said the collection yielded about 235 items that will benefit displaced Afghan families in their new Jacksonville homes.

During the past month, Kasinger encouraged peers to donate linens, toiletries, toys and personal hygiene items and placed several collection bins around campus.

She said she was “super excited” about the results of the collection and said Lutheran Social Services leaders are thrilled to receive the support.

“I know this will make a major difference in the Afghan refugees’ lives,” Kasinger said.
