NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Mandatory Honors Convocation for grades 9 - 12, Thursday, May 15 in the Davis Gym.

Wednesday, May 14 during Activities, the Sophomore Leadership Council will have a smoothie and bake sale.  The proceeds will benefit Five and Alive, an organization that provides basic medical care to young children in underdeveloped countries.  Come to the flagpole, satisfy your sugar cravings, and help a child in need.

Attention All Pen Pals.  The 2nd grade pen pal parties are this week.  The Whitehurst Party will be Thursday, May 15 during Activities at the Lower School Pavilion.  The Ponte Vedra Party will be during 4th and 5th lunch on Friday, May 16 in Bolles Hall Court Yard.  Attendance is mandatory.  If you have a conflict, please see Mrs. Cussen as soon as possible.

There will be a Girls Night In planning meeting Friday, May 16 during Activities in the Varn Board room.

If you are interested in helping out with next year’s Homecoming please come to the meeting on Monday, May 19 during Activities in the Varn Boardroom.  Committees will be assigned.  This is a great opportunity to get a leadership position.

Japanese Club Members: There will be a MANDATORY meeting, Wednesday, May 14 in Sensei Braren’s room (U114) during Activities. We will be holding elections for next year’s officer positions.

Senior Class slide show and banquet will be Wednesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in McGehee. Dinner catered by Moes will follow in the cafeteria, and yearbooks will be distributed to Seniors.

Please donate new or used books to benefit the Child Guidance Center. Drop off boxes are located in Ulmer, Schultz and downstairs Bolles Hall.

CLUB MEETINGS/UPCOMING EVENTS

Summer Reading has arrived!  We have new and exciting books to entertain you all summer!  Do not forget to purchase your summer reading before the end of school; accounts are closed during the summer!

Late Registration Deadline for the June 7 SAT Test is May 15.  Applications are available in the College Counseling Office or online at www.collegeboard.com.  

News from the Library: It is the time of the year for all books to come back to the library. Please return them to Ms. Hopkins as soon as possible.

Leigh Meadows will meet on Wednesday, May 14 from 4:00 -5:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria. This is our final session for the school year.  Please join us for music, games and snacks with the visiting children.

Corey Deighan will have a signing ceremony on Wednesday, May 14 in the Kennel Club Room.  Corey has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Charleston Southern University next year.  You are invited to stop by and congratulate Corey on this wonderful achievement.

Please join us for the 2008 Student/Senior Choreography Showcase presented by the Bolles Dance Department on Friday, May 16, Dance Awards will be at 7:15 p.m. and the Showcase will begin at 7:30 p.m. in McGehee Auditorium on the San Jose Campus. The repertoire in this show is purely student created, and it is incredible. The seniors will also be presenting their “Senior Piece.” Do not miss the Hip-Hop piece choreographed by three of our Bulldog football player/dancers. WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US
Admission is FREE!

If you are interested in forming a team for the San Marco/San Jose Relay for Life, you can get an information sheet on Ms. Moyer’s door B-218. Relay for Life will be held this year on May 16, and 17 at the DuPont Middle School. Get up to 18 service hours and spend the night raising money with your friends for a very good cause!
