Attention Ponte Vedra Mentors: We will meet on Wednesday, Mar 12 during Activities (instead of lunch) in the Alumni Conference Room. Please bring your folders.
If you would like to help homeless cats and dogs in the area, please come to the flagpole starting today Wednesday, Mar 12 and Thursday, Mar 13. The Humane Society Club will be having their Wish List Drive. Stop by and find out more about it.
Leigh Meadows will meet on Wednesday, Mar 12 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Please join us for Easter Activities with the visiting children and earn service credits.
There will be a Prom Committee meeting on Wednesday, Mar 12 during Activities in S-110 to discuss the decorations.
Attention All Wrestlers: Wrestling Club practice will be held in the wrestling room on the San Jose Campus on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. beginning today Wednesday, March 12. Please make every attempt to make plans to attend as many of these as possible. We will be preparing to wrestle in 3 or 4 events throughout the Spring. If you have not yet turned in your bag, warm ups and uniform, you need to return it to Coach Morris in the Athletic Office by Wednesday, Mar 12 or your account will be charged.
If you would like to earn some community service hours and help an amazing foundation, volunteer to work the phone bank for Cystic Fibrosis Wednesday, Mar 12 and Thursday, Mar 13. It will be at First Coast News, 1070 E. Adams Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202 from 4:45 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. You will be responsible for answering phones and taking people’s information for pledges. If you would like more information, please call 733-3560.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT
Latin Students Friday, Mar 14 is the day! The 2008 National Latin Exam will be in the Auditorium during Activities and 3rd periods. Please be on time and bring 2 sharpened pencils.
There will be a mandatory meeting of the Young Democrats of America on Friday, Mar 14 during Activities in room B-136. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Stephanie Cold.
Members of Youth Against Cancer: If you have any available time this week or next week during Activities, 2nd or 3rd periods, please come and help sort pennies in Mr. Lyon’s room SL-103. We really need your help! Thank you!
CLUB MEETINGS/UPCOMING EVENTS
Outward Bound Scholarship Available! If you enjoy spending time outdoors, challenging yourself with new activities, and do not mind getting dirty, then consider attending an Outward Bound program. Each year, Bolles awards a scholarship that can be applied to the tuition for a Hurricane Island Outward Bound Course. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible. Stop by the Williams Guidance Office and see Ms. Vagenas for more information. Applications are due on March 20.
As stated in the Student-Parent Handbook, “the Bolles student represents the School at all times, both on and off the campus”. With this in mind, students are encouraged to honor the School’s Values Statement as participants and spectators whenever the Bulldogs compete. Please remember that Respect, Responsibility, Hard Work, Concern for Others, and Pride are all important ingredients in being a member of the Bolles community.
Ever wish you did not have to take Shakespeare so seriously? Us too! Come out to see the Spring Comedy “Dear Mr. Shakespeare Please Forgive Us” this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the McGehee Auditorium. Many laughs guaranteed!
Seniors: The Bolles School Summer Program is looking for lifeguards to work a number of camps being offered on the San Jose and Bartram Campuses. If you are interested, please see Mr. Lyon in SL-103 ASAP. You must be Red Cross certified with a minimum age requirement of 18.
If you would like to discuss the future existence of on-campus dances, please come to a meeting in the cafeteria on Thursday, Mar 13 during Activities. Juniors, if you would like to be a part of the solution, please see Tushar Chakravarty, LeyLey Francis or Betty Shaw.
Grad Bash tickets will only be on sale until Friday, Mar 14. The cost is $85 (cash or check only) and can be paid in the Student Store. The forms you were given are no longer necessary. The event will be canceled if not enough seniors sign up, so please get your tickets now.
Attention Students: If you are signing out of class early for ANY reason you must have an early dismissal note from the Dean’s Office. You will not be allowed to leave class unless you have turned in a note from your parents and picked up an early dismissal note. This has to be done during zero hour as stated in the Student-Parent Handbook. Your teachers will collect your dismissal note and then you may sign out in the Dean’s Office. Teachers: Please do not excuse students early without their dismissal note.
Attention Sophomore Leadership: We will meet on Thursday, Mar 13 during Activities in the Alumni Conference Room.
Attention Seniors: If you are eligible for the Bright Futures Scholarship program, please fill out your on-line application by Friday, Mar 14.
Applications are now available for next year’s Honor Council. Interested students should pick up an application from Mrs. Soud in U-113 or at the switchboard. We are looking for 2 sophomores, 3 juniors and 5 seniors for next year’s council. Any questions please speak to an Honor Council member or Mrs. Soud.
