TODAY’S EVENTS
The World Affairs Club will meet after school today Thursday, Feb 21, in Dr. K’s room B-130. The topic is immigration.
Are you a junior interested in playing a varsity sport in college? How do you know if Division I, II, or III is the best fit for you? At the Junior Seminar on Thursday, February 21, you will learn how to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse and receive tips on communicating with college coaches.

Congratulations to the Varsity Quiz Team who have advanced to the Duval County quarter finals beating Bishop Kenny HS yesterday. The next competition is on Monday, Feb 25 against Mandarin High. Team members are: Faheem Rathore, Travis Gidado, Jim Trippe, Kristin Drew, Becky Le, Max Foster, Zora Cobb, Benny Menaged, Stefan Paul, Zibran Sarwar and Sunny Chalam.
CLUB MEETINGS/UPCOMING EVENTS
Japanese HINA MATSURI (Girls' Festival): March 3 is HINA-MATSURI, it is customary for families with a girl child to display ohinasama, hina-dolls, in the home and wish for the girls to grow healthy. Mrs. Braren has her dolls on display at the Academic Display Case (Schultz Hall) in honor of "Girls' Festival". Please stop by and see these beautiful, rare dolls.
The Debate Club has a debate during Activities Friday, Feb 22 and Monday, Feb 25 in the Varn Board Room. The subject is the relevance of SAT scores in the college admissions process. Debate club members not participating in this debate are strongly encouraged to attend. All are welcome.
National Honor Society: All students who were tapped on Thursday, February 14 must attend a mandatory rehearsal meeting during Activities Period on Friday, Feb 22 in the McGehee Auditorium.
Note: All junior seminars will be held in McGehee Auditorium during Activities Period. In addition to the mandatory seminars on April 3, and April 17, juniors must attend at least 2 of the 4 other sessions.
Attention Mu Alpha Theta Members: Our next competition will be on Saturday, March 8 at Spruce Creek High School. Permission slips are due to Mrs. McCombs by Friday, Feb 22. If you would like to participate, please pick up a permission slip from B-224 and return it signed by Friday.
If you are looking for community service hours, The Summer Special Olympics Games are being held at Bolles on Saturday, Feb 23. Also on that day is the 21st Annual Greenscape Flowering Tree Sale. Please see the flyers in the Info Hut or Ms. Moyer’s bulletin board B-218 for more information.
