TODAYS EVENTS

Leigh Meadows Service Activity will meet Wednesday, April 30th in the Cafeteria from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Please join us with a fun activity, snack with our visiting children, and earn service hours.

Bolles Repertory Dance Theatre, the Bolles Dance Company, 7th-12th grade, will have auditions for the 2008-2009 year, on Wednesday, April 30, in the Lynch, San Jose Campus, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The auditions will consist of combinations in the following disciplines of dance: Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Tap. One must be enrolled in Dance at The Bolles School starting next year. Please come prepared with all appropriate shoes. Feel free to contact Ms. B if you have any questions.

Sophomore Leadership: There will be two Sophomore Leadership meetings this week, one on Wednesday, April 30 and the other on Friday, May 2.  Both meetings will be during Activities.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT

Youth Against Cancer; If you are interested in forming a team for the San Marco/San Jose Relay for Life, you can get a information sheet on Ms. Moyer’s door B-218. Relay for Life will be held this year on May 16th, and 17th at the DuPont Middle School. Get up to 18 service hours and spend the night raising money with your friends for a very good cause! See Carly Norton if you have any questions!

Everybody welcome: Please join us for a "Kodomo no hi party" - Japanese Children's Day party this Thursday, May 1st during Activities Period in U-114. Japanese good food and Animation are waiting for you!

Registration Deadline for the June 7 SAT Test is May 6.  Applications are available in the College Counseling Office or online at www.collegeboard.com.  

The next planning meeting for Girls’ Night In will be on Thursday, May 1 during Activities Period in the Alumni Conference room.  Please come with ideas for a theme, decorations, speakers, and fun activities.

CLUB MEETINGS/UPCOMING EVENTS

Cross Country: If you are interested in running cross-country this fall, conditioning will begin this week on Thursday, May 1. All boys and girls who would like to come out for the team are welcome to attend. We meet at the track at 4:05 p.m. If you need further information or have any questions about the cross-country program, please see Coach Ryan in Bolles Hall room 250.

Mitton Award Ballots: It is time to vote for the Mittons.  Mitton Awards are given to performers voted to be the best in each production this year.  Ballots are available at the switchboard and attached to the bulletin board outside of McGehee.  Voting will be open through May 7th and ballots must be turned in person to Ms. Connelly or Mrs. Nettles. 

Attention seniors:  Lifetime letter lists are now posted in the following areas:  Info Hut, Guidance Office, Academic Office and outside of senior English classes.  There is also link on the school web site.  Please check to see that your name is spelled correctly and that all sports that you lettered in are listed.  Let the Athletic Office know of any changes or additions no later than Thursday, May 1st.

For anyone interested in joining Teen Angels, please return completed Teen Angels’ application to Mrs. Curran in room S-215, and teachers, not students, should return the two teacher recommendations to Mrs. Curran’s mailbox.  All forms must be turned in by Thursday, May 1st.  Thank you!

The School is investigating the possibility of an enlarged Canteen structure that would include the campus store and several student activities functions.  There will be some construction related work occurring next week related to this investigation.  Please pay careful attention to any signage or notices about staying clear of equipment being used. 

Attention Whitehurst Pen Pals:  Please turn in your pen pal letters to Mrs. Cussen by the end of the day.  

Art Reception on Friday, May 2 during Activities in the Gooding Gallery. Come and enjoy the art and the refreshments.

Attention AP American Government Students:  The AP Exam will be on Monday, May 5 at 8:00 a.m.  Please stop by Mr. Whitehouse’s room to pick up a copy of the practice exam, review materials, and the review session schedule.  Please email Mr. Whitehouse with any questions.

Seniors: Graduation announcements have arrived and should be picked up in the Campus Store.

Attention students:  If you are interested in applying for a campus parking space for next school year, please stop by the Dean’s Office and pick up an application.  Forms will be available starting on Monday, April 7 and need to be completed and returned to the Dean’s Office by Friday, May 9.  Due to the anticipated number of students filling out applications, not all students will be guaranteed a spot on campus.  Thanks for your understanding and please stop by the Dean’s Office with any questions.
