CONVOCATION/CLASS MEETINGS
Junior Seminar will be on Thursday, April 10 during Activities Period in McGehee.
Mandatory Spring Sports Rally will be on Friday, April 11 for grades 9-12 during Activities in the Davis Gym.
TODAYS EVENTS
There is going to be a Humane Society Club meeting in Mrs. Sitz’s room U-112 during Activities on Thursday, April 10. We will be discussing the upcoming Puppy Chow Sale and future events. Please bring your $3 dues. If you have any questions talk to Max Rogozinski or Spencer Joel.
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in helping out with Bulldog Ton on Thursday, April 10 in the Varn Boardroom during Activities on the first floor of Bolles Hall. If you have any questions please see Caitlin Mumford or Becca Surratt.
Seniors and Juniors, if you are planning to bring a guest to prom your Guest Approval Form and a copy of your guest’s driver’s license must be turned in to a Dean or Ms. Moyer by Thursday, April 10.
Students wishing to take the appeals test for Honors Contemporary World History and AP US History should come to Dr. K’s room B-130 during 4th or 5th period on Thursday, April 10. This is only day the test is offered. Students must have a completed and signed appeals form in order to take the test. If you have any questions, see your advisor or Dr. K.
Are you interested in becoming a member of Teen Angels and helping others become more aware of internet safety issues? You might even have an opportunity to travel to Washington DC for the annual summit. To learn more about becoming a Teen Angel, plan to attend a meeting this Thursday, April 10 during Activities Period in Mrs. Curran’s room S-215. All 9th,10th and 11th graders are welcome. Snacks will be provided.
Please join us for the 2008 Spring Dance Concert. Concert dates are April 10 and 11. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the McGehee Auditorium. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. The admission is free.
The concert is very eclectic; you will see hip-hop, tap, musical theatre, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and an interesting “performance art” piece combining science and movement. You will hear blues, rock and roll, 80’s music, classical music, new artist music, plus much more. The concert includes students from pre-k up through 12 th grade. We hope you will join us for this wonderful, fun evening.
Juniors are encouraged to attend this week’s Junior Seminar: How to pay for college. At this important session on Thursday, April 10, the College Counseling staff will translate the complicated language of financial aid and scholarships into everyday language. Find out about scholarship opportunities and how to apply for financial aid. Note: All junior seminars will be held in McGehee Auditorium during Activities Period. In addition to the final Mandatory Seminar on Thursday, April 17, juniors must have attended at least 2 of the 4 other sessions by the end of this semester.
Late Registration Deadline for the May 3 SAT Test is April 10. Applications are available in the College Counseling Office or online at www.collegeboard.com.

Congratulations to Hayley Hanes who won the College Basketball Bracket contest conducted during Spring Week. Savannah Durden was a close second, followed by Andy O’Hare.
Juniors, if you are planning to run for a student government position your election application and a copy of your speech is due to Ms. Moyer B-218 no later than the end of the day on Friday, April 11.
Cheerleading tryouts are set for the week of April 14-18 for all girls in grades 8th-11th.

From the Dean’s Office: Dress Code Reminders:
For Girls:
Shirts must be buttoned to within 2” of the collarbone.
Shirtsleeves must extend at least 6” from the top of the shoulder.
Skirts are to be no greater than 2” above the knee.
Shoes may not have heels higher that 1.5” and no narrower than the width of the shoe.
For Boys:
Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
Pants with patch pockets are not allowed for girls or boys.
Undershirts with logos may not be worn under your dress code shirt.
Socks must be worn at all times.
Your Data Match results are finally here! If you filled out a survey, you can get your results for $3 during Activities or lunch all this week at the flagpole.
Attention students: If you are interested in applying for a campus parking space for next school year, please stop by the Dean’s Office and pick up an application. Forms will be available starting on Monday, April 7 and need to be completed and returned to the Dean’s Office by Friday, May 9. Due to the anticipated number of students filling out applications, not all students will be guaranteed a spot on campus. Thanks for your understanding and please stop by the Dean’s Office with any questions.
Seniors, if you want your pictures in the Senior Slide Show you need to get copies of them to Peyton Skinner or Ms. Moyer in B-218 ASAP. Let us hope that there will be a ton of pictures so please be sure to hand over copies of your photos. We will do our best to get yours back to you but cannot make promises to that end.
Perspective: The deadline for Perspective submissions will be on Thursday, April 17th. If you have any art- work fiction, non-fiction, or poetry and you would like to see it published, please see one of the editors Travis Gidado, Kristin Drew, Tom Lee, Zara Day, Christina Lambiase, Elizabeth Smith or Helen Cooney for any further information.
KUDOS to the Congreso (Florida State Spanish Competition) participants for winning 3rd place in their division this past weekend in Orlando. All 12 students received “Sobresaliente” (Outstanding) in their individual competitions.
