Kelly Stevenson

Kelly Stevenson joined the Bolles faculty as a Lower School Whitehurst Campus physical education instructor as well as the upper school girls' varsity basketball head coach in 2006. Stevenson brings a wealth of experience to the School as a successful college coach and player, as well as one of the most heralded high school athletes from the First Coast in recent years.

Stevenson guided the 2008-09 squad to a 19-8 record and district runner-up finish and regional quarterfinal berth. In 2006-07, Stevenson guided the Bolles girls to an 18-9 record, a district runner-up finish, and into the regional quarterfinals.

Stevenson came to Bolles after a one year stint as the director of women's basketball operations at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, helping the 49ers win the Atlantic 10 Conference title in the 2005-06 season. Prior to UNC Charlotte, Stevenson served as an assistant coach at Furman University for the 2004-05 season, helping that program to 18 wins.

Stevenson is a 2004 graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports sciences. As a member of the Gators women's basketball team, she was a three-time Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and was named to the SEC Good Works team for her community service. As a junior, she was named team tri-captain.

Unfortunately, due to two knee injuries, Stevenson was limited to just two seasons of action on the court for the Gators after transferring from Jacksonville University in 2000. Stevenson was the first-ever player to sign with the JU women's basketball team as the program began its inaugural season in 1999.

Stevenson graduated from Nease High School in 1999, where she guided the Panthers to the Class 5A state title as a senior. She was named Most Valuable Player of the state tournament and to the 5A All-State team that season as well. Stevenson also earned USA Today All-USA Honorable Mention, was named the 1999 Florida Times-Union Player-of-the-Year, and won the “Jasper” award for Amateur Women's Basketball Player of the Year at the Florida Sports Awards, joining her Nease teammates as a member of the top Amateur Women's Team.



Austin Reynolds

Varsity Assistant Coach

Austin Reynolds

Austin Reynolds joined the Bolles staff in 2008, serving as a physical education instructor on the Lower School Whitehurst Campus, an assistant football coach, and assistant coach with the varsity girls' basketball squad.

Prior to Bolles, Reynolds taught physical education, health, and fitness for four years in Brevard County. He spent two years at Odyssey Charter School implementing an after-school sports program. Reynolds then served as a coach for various sports at Class 5A Bayside High School. He coached wide receivers with the varsity football squad and was offensive coordinator for the junior varsity. Reynolds also coached varsity boys' soccer, first an assistant coach then as head coach, guiding the program to its first district championship. He coached girls' varsity track for one season and girls' varsity tennis for two seasons.

Reynolds earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from the University of Central Florida where he played for the club soccer team. He is a 1999 graduate of Nease High School, where he was a three-sport letterman in football, soccer, and weightlifting. Reynolds moved back to Jacksonville after getting married in 2008.



Rebecca Montz

Varsity Assistant Coach

Rebecca Montz

Rebecca Montz joined the Bolles girls’ basketball staff in 2009 after a successful playing career at Jacksonville University and Chipola Junior College. Montz previously coached at Centenary College in Louisiana and at her former high school, Abbeville High.

Montz earned back-to-back Academic All-Conference accolades in the Atlantic Sun Conference, posting a team-high 3.5 grade point average for the 2004-05 season. She started every game in her two years with the Dolphins.

A two-year starter at Chipola, Montz twice earned Panhandle All-Conference and All-Academic honors for the Lady Indians. She earned a spot on the state all-tournament team as Chipola made a state semi-finals appearance. Montz was also awarded the prestigious Neal Sportsmanship Award, annually given to only one athlete at Chipola. The award recognizes the student-athlete who most demonstrates leadership, sportsmanship, athletic prowess, and academic achievement.

An Erath, Louisiana, native, Montz holds a B.S. in physical education from Jacksonville University with a focus in exercise science. She continued her education at St. Vincent’s Schools of medical science where she earned her certification as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. She is currently working as a CNMT at a local hospital in Jacksonville.



Jennifer Marees '05

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Jennifer Marees

Jennifer Marees joined the girls’ basketball coaching staff in 2009 as the junior varsity head coach. Marees is a 2005 graduate of Bolles where she was a member of the varsity basketball and softball programs.

Marees went on to attend Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where she was a two-sport athlete playing basketball for three years and softball for four years. During her college career, she was team captain for both the basketball and softball teams and was awarded the “Team We” award for basketball along with the “Miss Hustle” award for softball. Marees served as an assistant varsity girls’ basketball coach for Burgin High School during her senior year of college. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology and History while at Centre College and looks to pursue a masters degree in Biology at the University of North Florida.



Tia Scott

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Tia Scott

Tia Scott joined the Bolles girls' basketball coaching staff in 2008. Scott is currently pursuing a degree in psychology at the University of North Florida. While in college, she has worked with AAU and middle school teams such as Florida Hoopstars and Southside Middle School.

Scott is a 2004 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School where she participated in basketball, volleyball, softball, and track. She received the student athlete of the week award four times while in high school. She was ranked ninth in three-point percentage by the Florida Times-Union during her junior season. She was also selected as team captain and was named All-County.
