Camp Instructors
Storm Davis
Head Coach, The Bolles School
In his second year back at the helm of the Bulldog program,
Coach Davis led the team to the 2009 3A state title. Coach
Davis’ baseball resume includes 13 years in the Major Leagues
as a pitcher, and an appearance in three different World Series
including championships with the 1983 Baltimore Orioles and
1989 Oakland A’s.
Mike Boswell
Assistant Coach, The Bolles School
Coach Boswell graduated from the University of North Florida
and was an infielder in the Chicago Cubs organization. As a
coach, he guided Englewood High School to a state title in 1999
and earned the FACA Coach of the Year award. He is in his
eighth year as a varsity coach for the Dogs.
Matt Denmark
Assistant Coach, The Bolles School
Coach Denmark graduated from the University of North Florida
and served as a head coach for Providence and Episcopal High
Schools in Jacksonville. He begins his twelfth year of coaching
at Bolles and is the infield instructor for the Bulldogs.
Taylor Cobb
Assistant Coach, The Bolles School
Coach Cobb graduated from Bolles in 2001 and was named
the Florida Times-Union Player of the Year. After graduation
from the University of Central Florida, he was drafted by the
Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He is in his fourth year as a pitching
coach for the Dogs.
Rickey Barnes
JV Head Coach, The Bolles School
Coach Barnes graduated from Mandarin High School in 2003
and is completing his undergraduate studies at the University
of North Florida. He has coached football and baseball at the
middle school level and is in his third year of leading the Bolles
JV baseball program.
John Newman
Camp Co-ordinator, The Bolles School
Coach Newman graduated from The Bolles School in 1986 and
played in three Final Four championships as a centerfielder for
the Dogs. During his 14 years of coaching Bolles baseball, he
helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2002 3A state championship.
Camp Philosophy
The Bolles School coaching staff will be presenting a
four-day camp on improving the fundamentals involved in
becoming a complete baseball player. The camp will be
broken into offensive and defensive days and divided into
30-minute teaching sessions. In addition, participants will
be grouped according to age and ability. The following is
an example of each day’s activities:

- Team stretch
- Live batting practice
- Bunting mechanics
- Stance, stride, & swing
- Tee work, soft toss, & flips
- Base running mechanics
- Tour of Bulldog weight room & hitting video
- Concession stand break
- Team stretch
- Throwing mechanics
- Infield play
- Outfield play
- Pitching mechanics
- Bat drills & cage work
- Tour of Bulldog locker room & defensive video
- Concession stand break
