Lower School (PK-5)
The lower school program at The Bolles School teaches children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 the wonder of learning in an intimate and innovative environment. Bolles students develop a sense of exploration and personal values that instill a sense of all that is possible throughout their academic and personal lives as they progress through to middle school on the School’s Bartram Campus, then move on to the Bolles upper school and beyond.
Lower school students receive a firm foundation in reading skills, writing, math, science, and social studies from a dedicated and caring faculty. The School also recently implemented new math and science curriculums in the lower school, providing creative learning concepts in these critical disciplines. Dedicated science labs at both the Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses have been recently added, further strengthening the lower school science program.
• The science curriculum, Science and Technology for Children, focuses on discovering science concepts through real world experiences and developing scientific abilities that will be valuable for a lifetime of learning.
• The math curriculum, Primary Mathematics or ‘Singapore Math’, was implemented in the 2009-10 school year at Bolles. The first school in the area and one of the first in Florida to implement the math program, Bolles has led other Jacksonville area schools in exploring and implementing the curriculum.
The two campuses share a common curriculum found here.
