Admission Checklists:
For a checklist of all items needed to complete a student's application and the dates by which items are due in order for first-round admission consideration, please refer to the appropriate checklist by clicking below.
Instructions for Completing and Submitting Application:
If submitting an application online, please complete all appropriate questions on the online application. It will take approximately 20 minutes for you to complete and submit the online form. Before you begin you'll need Social Security Numbers, dates of birth, vital statistics, and guardian contact information for all applicants as well as information about their current school. Additionally, you will need to download all appropriate grade level PDF forms and mail by the due dates indicated on the checklist. A photograph of the applicant is also needed.

Deadline:
- All application files that are completed by January 10 will be evaluated during the first round of admission consideration.
- The Admission Committees meet at the beginning of February. Decisions will be mailed by mid-February.
- Applications received after January 10 will be considered on a space-available basis.
Admission Testing:
Lower School
Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten - Students applying for admission to Pre-Kindergarten must be four years old by September 1 and 5 years old by September 1 for Kindergarten. Applicants for those grades will be scheduled to visit Bolles twice - once for an individual developmental assessment and a second time for a group visit. Both of these visits will take place on a weekday in January. Notification of assessment dates will be mailed upon receipt of the application.
Grades 1-5 - Students applying for admission for grades 1-5 will be scheduled for a full-day classroom visit during the month of January. Notification of assessment dates will be mailed upon receipt of the application.
Interview:
All applicants for grades 6-12 should schedule an interview on campus with a member of the Admission staff. This may be arranged in conjunction with a campus visit, hosted by a student ambassador.
Fees:
Application fees:
All Day School and Domestic Boarding applicants pay a non-refundable application fee of $45 when payment is made by check or in cash. If the application fee is paid by credit card (required for applications submitted online), the fee is $50.
All International Boarding School applicants pay a non-refundable application fee of $75 when payment is made by check or in cash. If the application fee is paid by credit card (required for applications submitted online), the fee is $80. These fees offset additional administrative costs.
Testing fees:
Lower School - a $55 testing fee is required with all Lower School applications received by January 10. For applications received after that date, a testing fee will be charged only if the applicant is evaluated.
Middle, Upper and Boarding School applicants - there is a testing fee for taking the ISEE, payable online at www.iseetest.org at the time of registration.
Financial Aid
