At Bolles, community service is not required. Students understand the importance of giving back and getting involved in a purpose. If they have been a longstanding Bolles student, they have been taught and understood that philosophy since lower school. As a result, they are involved because they want to help, not because it is mandatory. From local nonprofit groups to individual student clubs, Bolles students, along with parents, faculty, and alumni, are always taking time to reach out and help others.
With a boarding program representing several states and as many as 23 countries, Bolles literally brings the world to its campuses. Often, this also brings an added unique element to the student body to want to help in current events on a global scale due to their fellow students, their families, and their ability to better understand the needs because of classroom discussion and friendships with students from all over the globe. These experiences are not only mutually rewarding for the students, but it further enhances the educational opportunities.
Each student who attends Bolles is immeasurably enriched by an abundance of experiences. Through academics, arts, athletics, community service, and more, Bolles truly emulates the School’s motto of Tradition. Service. Distinction.
