Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions
Art Class Volunteer – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist art teacher with special art projects.
Art Show – Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
Assist art teacher with set-up, installation, and take-down of art show. Event typically occurs in spring.
Birthday Book Club – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist in publicizing and documenting donations of library books in honor of student birthdays.
Book Fair – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist with planning and staffing Book Fair.
Box Tops Committee – All Campuses
Assist in publicizing, collecting, organizing and submitting box tops for redemption throughout the school year.
Communications Committee – All Campuses
Assist Campus Communications Liaisons by attending, photographing, and writing brief report on Parent Association-sponsored activities and events for the Bolles web site.
Dance Chaperone – San Jose Campus
Serve as chaperone for Upper School Winter Dance (February) and Prom (April).
Faculty/Staff Appreciation – All Campuses
Assist with implementing luncheons, goodie bags, etc. for faculty and staff. Two luncheons are held each school year on each campus.
Fall Festival – Whitehurst Campus
Assist Fall Festival Chairs with implementing and staffing this family event held in fall.
Family Fun Day – Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
Assist Family Fun Day Chairs with implementing and staffing this family event held in spring.
Field Day – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist physical education teachers in coordinating Grades PK-5 Field Days held in spring.
Fine and Performing Arts – San Jose and Bartram Campuses
Assist Fine and Performing Arts Committee at receptions, concerts, recitals, etc. by providing refreshments and other assistance requested by faculty.
Foreign Exchange Program – All Campuses
Provide condo or house for five to six exchange program faculty members for five weeks in February-March.
Grade Level Student Activities – All Campuses
Assist Class Parents in implementing and staffing student grade level activities on respective campuses.
Grade Level Student Socials – Bartram Campus
Assist Grade Level Socials Chairs in implementing 1-2 socials for students during the school year.
Grandparent Day - Bartram, Whitehurst, and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist Grandparent Day Chairs with implementing and staffing this annual event held in November.
Grounds/Campus Beautification – All Campuses
Assist Grounds Committee in organizing grounds clean-up and beautification projects.
Holiday Concert Decorating – Whitehurst Campus
Assist with decorating for annual holiday program (half-day in December).
Library Helpers – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist librarians and faculty with various projects and day-to-day operations.
Lunch Program – Whitehurst Campus
Assist serving pizza or providing cookies/fruit for Grades K-5 for Wonderful Wednesday.
Lunch Program – Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
Assist serving pizza and ice cream for grades K-5 on Fridays.
New Parent Committee – All Campuses
Assist New Parent Committee Chairs to make new parents feel welcome to the School. Call new parents to give them information about the School, to encourage them to participate in Parent Association activities, and to answer their questions.
Parent Fund Grade Level Caller Team – All Campuses
Participate in calling parents to solicit contributions for the Parent Fund. Annual gifts supplement tuition and are used for faculty development and program enhancement.
Parent Socials Committee – All Campuses
Assist Parent Socials Chair in publicizing and staffing Parent Socials held in the fall.
P.E. Helpers – Whitehurst Campus
Assist Physical Education programs as requested by staff.
Project Link-Up – San Jose Campus
This program offers interaction between boarding students and families of day students. Families of day students “link” with a boarding student to include the student(s) in a family activity every four to six weeks and provide special treats, goodie bags, etc. during exam week, birthdays, etc.
Provide housing for Boarding Students during school holidays – All Campuses
The Boarding program occasionally needs assistance from parents to house boarding students who cannot travel home during times when the School is closed for holidays. Checking this area expresses interest; does not imply commitment to provide housing.
School Pictures – Ponte Vedra Beach and Whitehurst Campuses
Assist on “Picture Day” with individual and class photographs.
Senior Class Events – San Jose Campus
Assist 12th Grade Class Parents with fall breakfast and spring picnic.
Spring Splash – Bartram Campus
Assist Spring Splash Committee with implementation and staffing for a day of water sporting games and lunch for all middle school students held in the spring.
Uniform Recycle Sale – Bartram, Whitehurst, and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist Uniform Recycle Sale Chairs in implementing the collection and sale of used uniform clothing. Sale takes place on the Saturday immediately following the last day of school.
Vision Screening – Whitehurst and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist principal with vision testing (half-day in the fall).
Yearbook Committee – Bartram, Whitehurst, and Ponte Vedra Beach Campuses
Assist Yearbook Chair with yearbook production to include taking and collecting photographs as requested.
