Lower School Activities
The Bolles Character Education program begins in lower school where not only good moral and ethical principles about each child’s character, their respect for themselves and others, their actions, words, and deeds are emphasized, but they also become part of an even bigger concept—the opportunity to give back through service to the School and to the Community.
Bolles lower school students participate in all types of community events from runs and walks for a particular cause to sponsoring a sick child’s dream trip. They work to earn monies collected through different events they create themselves or bring in spare change they have worked for around the house. They bring in gently used books or toys for other children that aren’t as fortunate or even have contests to bring in box tops which help the School purchase needed items every year. Lower school children quickly learn that helping others is an important part of Bolles and, through their kind and generous efforts, are important to others less fortunate.
Their consistent community service activities in lower school prepare them well for bigger projects and more responsibility in middle and upper school, as they continue their journey through Bolles.
