Whitehurst Third Graders Visit Channel 4
The third grade at the Whitehurst Campus has been studying weather. On April 17, 2008 they took a trip to WJXT Channel 4 where they met meteorologist, Richard Nunn. He gave them a quick lesson in different weather systems and answered a few questions before going on air.
The students watched a live broadcast of the 12:00 News from behind the scenes. Students also viewed the broadcast from the control room where all of the magic happens.
The third graders had their 15 seconds of fame and appeared at the end of the broadcast waving to the audience in TV land. Everyone had a great time and we would like to thank Channel 4 for allowing our classes to visit.
