Whitehurst Fourth Grade Presents Annual Florida Day
Fourth grade students on the Bolles Whitehurst Campus hosted the annual Florida Day on Friday, May 16, from 9-11 a.m. After studying the past, present, and future of Florida, the students each portrayed a famous Floridian or character and performed a short vignette. Characters included Seminole and Calusa Indians, lighthouse keepers, Andrew and Rachel Jackson, scuba divers, Hernando de Soto, a loyalist, southern belles, an astronaut, Everglades National Park rangers, Queen Elizabeth, a tacky tourist, Jimmy Buffett, May Mann Jennings, and more.
