Whitehurst Fifth Grade Presents Once Upon a Crown

Students in the Lower School Whitehurst Campus fifth grade presented Once Upon a Crown on March 19 in McGehee Auditorium. The play's subject was science lessons of volume, displacement, and density. The plot involved a king, his gold, Archimedes and his theories, and some crooked goldsmiths trying to fool the king with a fake gold crown. Archimedes theories of volume, displacement, and density helped prove the goldsmiths had not created a solid gold crown.

The play was written and directed by Michael Fritton, with original music by Andrea Duke, and the backdrop was created by the students under the direction of Helen Meatte.
