Track and Field Teams Perform Well at State

The Bolles girls' and boys' track and field teams finished the 2008 season with success at the 2A state meet in Winter Park on Saturday, April 26. The boys placed fourth out of 52 teams and the girls placed seventh out 59 teams posting a score. Bolles also claimed an individual and relay title and broke four school records at the state meet.
Kenny McClain '08 won the 300-meter hurdles, breaking his own school record in a time of 36.64 seconds. McClain also placed third in the 110-meter hurdles and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team, joining teammates Raphael Johnson '08, Desmond Cooper '10, and Phillip Jamison '08 in another school record effort of 3:17.26.
The boys' 4x800-meter relay team of Johnson, Jamison, Khalil Farah '08, and Jake Jung '09 added another school record, placing third in the event in a time of 7:59.65. Jung posted additional points for Bolles in the 3200-meter run in a personal best time of 9:44.02.
The girls' 4x800-meter relay altered the Bolles record books with a time of 9:34.48. The team of Amelia Williams '11, Heather Allen '10, Rebecca Chandler '11, and Kelsea Sears '10 placed second in the event.
Kiera Blakely '08 placed third in the 100-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meter dash.
Chandler placed fifth in the 800-meter run. Kaitlyn Iselborn '09 scored in the 3200-meter run with an eighth place finish. The 4x100-meter relay team of Blakely, Lindsay Turnbach '13, Corday Dukes '09, and Mary Beth Wilk '09 added to the team score, placing seventh.
