Students Contribute $23,000 to Solace for the Children

A group of Bolles students met on the San Jose Campus on July 5 to present a check to participants in the Solace for the Children program. Solace for the Children is an organization of volunteers that provides medical and dental care to needy children, primarily through a summer hosting program in which children from Afghanistan come to the United States and stay with American families for six weeks while they receive treatment. The Bolles group contribute $23,000 to this worthy cause.

The Bolles students and an alum involved included Haley ’09, Blake ’11, Hunter ’13, Brighton ’16, and Hollin ’19 Hakimian and J.F. Tullis ’16. Blake and Hunter served as the president and vice president, respectively, of the upper school Solace club, Brighton and Tullis led a Solace club on the middle school campus, and Hollin collected four large suitcases of over the counter medications from the Whitehurst Campus third grade.

Following the check presentation on July 5, the group treated their guests to Yogaberry.
