The Middle School Challenge involved each team creating an edutainment game for either fourth or fifth grade, engaging students in math, language, or science. Robbie Bridgewater '12, Jake Mendelson '12, and Cameron McLauchlan '12 created Dance Dance Revolution Recycling Game to earn first place in the Health Games Challenge division. The Health Games Challenge required the development of a physically active video game that is challenging, engaging and promotes a health message. The teams were to incorporate a dance pad as the main player controller for the action with the game keeping the player active for at least 10 minutes. A second level, increasing the player's activity, was also required. The target group for the game was to be one of three age ranges: fifth-sixth grade, seventh-eighth grade, or ninth-tenth grade.
