College Counseling 101

College Counseling 101, a program designed for parents of 9th-graders, will be held on the following dates:

  • Monday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 14 at noon
  • Wednesday, October 15 at 8:15 a.m.

Space is limited, so be sure to sign up by calling Synne-Claire Jones at 904-256-5240 by Thursday, October 9

All sessions will be held in the Alumni Conference Room in Bolles Hall on the San Jose Campus. Topics we will address include: an overview of the college counseling curriculum (grades 9-12), exploring activities as a way of preparing for college (and life), tailoring a course load to each student’s needs, and a glimpse into a “crystal ball” demonstrating what potential admissions outcomes might be for different students. At the end of the program we will have a question-and-answer session to respond to any specific queries you might have. We have designed College Counseling 101 to introduce you to some basics about college admissions preparation. Above all, we want to help reduce the anxiety you (and possibly even your child) may already feel about the college process.

We hope that you and your ninth-grader are having an exciting, challenging, and rewarding school year. Please join us for College Counseling 101 so that you can take full advantage of the many resources that Bolles, the Advising Program, and the College Counseling Office offer.
