Bolles Wins 14th Dodge Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award


FHSAA logoThe Bolles School swept the top overall, girls' and boys' awards in the 3A private classification in the final 2008-09 Dodge Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards point standings. This marks the 14th year Bolles has won the Dodge Sunshine Cup, earning the award for 11 consecutive years from 1995-2005 and again in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

With 1,310 points, Bolles led the 3A private schools classification by a large margin, 417.5 points better than second-place American Heritage (Plantation). Bolles also led all nine divisions in total points with Class 5A St. Thomas Aquinas posting the second-most with 1,055.5 points.

The 650 member senior high schools have been divided into six classifications for administrative purposes based on the enrollments with Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A further subdivided into public and private categories. An all-sports award is presented in each of these nine categories in overall, girls', and boys' divisions at the conclusion of the 2008-09 school year. Points are awarded a school based on its finish in FHSAA State Series competition in each sport in the classification in which it has been assigned to compete.

Winners will be honored in their communities by local Dodge dealers during the 2009-10 school year.
