Bolles’ Swimming and Diving Wins District Titles
The Bolles boys' and girls' swimming and diving teams won their 45th and 29th district titles, respectively, in program history. Both squads won their 18th consecutive district title at the meet held at Episcopal on Thursday, October 18.
The boys' team scored 699 points, 268 points ahead of runner-up Episcopal. Individual district champions included Byron Plapp (200 freestyle), Jowan Qupty (200 IM and 100 breaststroke), Rodion Davelaar (50 free and 100 free), William Hartje (1 meter diving), and Jimmy Gaston (500 free).
The Bolles boys swept the relay events, including the 200 medley relay of Oscar Aldabe, Hartje, Wade Blom, and Tommy Gutman; the 200 freestyle relay of Max Glober, Paul Numbers, Branden Whitehurst, and Davelaar; and the 400 freestyle relay of Glober, Gaston, Whitehurst, and Davelaar.
The girls' team scored 686 points, 348 points ahead of runner-up Episcopal. Individual district champions included Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace (200 free and 100 butterfly), Tori Richmond (200 IM and 100 breaststroke), Danielle Risley (1 meter diving), Aubrey Peacock (100 free and 100 backstroke), and Emilie Hilsted (500 free).
The Bolles girls swept the relay events as well, including the 200 medley relay of Chandler Soapes, Danielle Beaubrun, Pink Kinanti, and Ashley Butler; the 200 freestyle relay of Soapes, Vanderpool-Wallace, Casey Sandlin, and Richmond; and the 400 freestyle relay of 400 freestyle relay of Vanderpool-Wallace, Dana Nessler, Peacock, and Richmond.
