Bolles Students Help Club Win National Title
Four Bolles soccer players helped their club team recently win the U-16 US Club Soccer National Championship. Katie Prusiecki ’12, Rachel Sorrells ’12, Samantha Stamps ’12, and Sydney Vandroff ’12 are all members of the Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club Fury U-16 team that defeated Eclipse Select from Illinois 2-1 in the championship game, held in Virginia Beach.
The team played in the National Cup, winning one of 12 regional qualifying tournaments to earn a spot. The Fury team was placed in one of two brackets to play a round-robin schedule with the two teams with the most points earning a spot in the national title game. The Fury earned a draw and two wins to advance and win the national championship game.
