Bolles Ponte Vedra Beach Campus Book Club
Please join the Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus Book ClubOur first Book Club meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, December 3, at 8:30 a.m. in the library on the Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus. School parent, Tina Jaeckle, Ph.D., will lead a discussion of Escape from Slavery: The True Story of My Ten Years in Captivity and My Journey to Freedom in America, by Frances Bok. This is a story about a young man’s escape from slavery in Sudan, eventual settlement in Iowa as a UN refugee, and work with an American antislavery organization. Dr. Jaeckle is an assistant professor in the Social and Behavioral Sciences at Flagler College and co-founder of Bridges to Sudan – an organization dedicated to helping Sudanese refugees in Jacksonville. The discussion promises to be interesting whether you complete the book or not! Please join us and bring a friend. All are welcome!
