Girls Basketball vs Baldwin

It was one of those nights. Bolles missed layups and Baldwin rarely missed. After defeating Baldwin by more than 20 points in the first meeting, the visiting Lady Bulldogs were shocked, losing 44-43 in district competition.

With the district competition a couple of weeks away, the two teams will be seeded second and third in the tournament and could meet again in the semifinals. The winner will most likely take on top seed Ribault in the finals. Both finalists advanced to the regional round. Bolles made the regionals in Coach Kelly Stevenson's first year of coaching, losing to eventual state champion Florida High.

Bolles had an 18-16 halftime lead and were down 34-28 heading into the fourth quarter but mounted a comeback which fell one point short. Freshman center Tory Reiman scored all nine of her points in the second half and also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sophomore center Hannah Riley also had a big game, coming off the bench with six points, 12 rebounds and two steals.

Senior Amanda Zakose led the Bulldogs in scoring with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals while shooting guard Hannah Conte had eight points, four rebounds, two steals and one block. Freshman point guard Ali Walker contributed five points, two rebounds and three steals.

"Hannah Riley was a spark off the bench and had an excellent game," Stevenson said. "The goal was to keep their leading scorer under 10 and we made that goal. She only had six points but the other Baldwin players stepped up and knocked down some huge shots."
