Bolles Posts 42-14 Win Over UC
By Coach Collins
The Bolles Bulldogs played well yesterday in their Independent League debut, downing University Christian 42-14. There were a number of "big plays" beginning with the Bulldogs recovering the opening onside kick. From there it was all Bulldogs as the offensive line cleared the way for Jeremy Wannamaker to score on the first offensive play of the day. Jeremy took a handoff from Cameron McCurry and ran it in from 40 yards out.
In all, five touchdowns were scored, tallied by Wanamaker, Matt Morris (2), Rob Kelley, and Craig Walker. All of our two point conversions were good and were scored by Hayden Hurst, Luke Viering, Luke Del Rio, and Sam Kelley.
The Bulldog defense turned in several big plays and were led by experienced eighth graders; Robbey Pye, Willie McDade, Matt Swartz, Connor Smith, and Charlie Burnett. The defense also put points on the board as Rob Kelley scored a safety for the team.
The coaching staff was pleased with this first game effort, but knows that Episcopal will be gearing up for their first meeting in fifteen years.
