Coach Collins is in his twelfth year as the head basketball coach of the middle school Bulldogs.During that time, the program has enjoyed much success including winning multiple conference championships. In addition to coaching middle school basketball, Coach Collins also leads the middle school football and varsity girls’ softball programs.

Please Note:

  • The middle school basketball camp will be held on the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus. The campus is located at 2264 Bartram Road (32207) and is approximately 5 miles from the upper school campus.
  • Campers should wear regular basketball attire which includes practice shorts, t-shirts, athletic socks and basketball shoes.
  • Jewelry, iPods and other electronic devices should be left at home. In order to minimize disruptions, campers who bring cell phones to camp will be asked to leave them with the camp director each morning.
  • While lunch is not provided, campers will have an opportunity to purchase snacks and drinks during scheduled breaks in the day.
  • Because water will be provided during the day, campers do not need to bring their own coolers, water jugs, etc.
  • Camp Philosophy

    The Bolles School coaching staff will be presenting a four-day camp on improving the fundamentals necessary for a middle school player as he/she prepares to move to the next level. The focus of the camp will be on developing ball-handling, passing, shooting and the defensive skills necessary to become a complete basketball player. The camp will be divided into offensive and defensive segments and participants will be grouped according to age and ability. The following is an example of each day’s activities:

    OFFENSIVE
    Fundamentals of dribbling
    Fundamentals of passing
    Proper shooting mechanics (free throws, lay-ups, jump shots)
    Breaking the press
    Offensive rebounding

    DEFENSIVE
    Zone vs. Man coverage techniques t Trapping defense
    Defensive rebounding
    Transition defense

    GAMES
    Team 3 vs. 3
    Team 5 vs. 5
    3 point contest
    Hot Shot contest
    Free Throw contest
