2009 City Championships

Lightweight Women and Men win gold at the 2009 City Championships

Bolles Crew finished the City Championships up strong with 2 first place finishes in the lightweight 4 event.  The girl’s boat, which will be competing at the State Championship Regatta April 25 – 26 in Sarasota, consisted of Marta Trippe (bow), Mya Nguyen (2), Emily Vandroff (3), Sarah Dibble (stroke) and Alora Clark (cox).  The boy’s 4, which is half of a very successful 8 that will be competing at States, included Chris Connolly (bow), Bryan Smith (2), Conor White (3), Scott Rice (stroke) and Jake Mendelson (cox).

The Women’s Varsity 4 had a great row and finished in 3rd place, ahead of the Jacksonville Rowing Club who beat them 2 weeks before.  Annie Ungrady (bow), Jennifer Margettes (2), Anne-Marie Clegg (3), Taylor Hughes (stroke) and coxswain Alora Clark are confident as they get ready for the State Championship Regatta in Sarasota.

For the first time in City Championship history, a middle school mixed 8 exhibition race was held and they beat St. Johns to the finish line in an exciting row.  Way to go middle schoolers!

Bolles finished in third place for the day behind Stanton-Riverbank Rowing Club and Jacksonville Episcopal High School.
