The baseball team won its opening game in the tournament against a stingy Mandarin Christian team 6 to 2. This has been 8 wins in a row! Eddie Allen, Andrew Pataky, and Alex Ivanov consistently pitched out of innings with runners on base. Zach Montford and Matt Swartz each threw out runners on the bases from the catcher position. Craig Walker hit the ball well and made a couple of fine plays from shortstop. Allen had 2 RBI’s while Matt Myhand and Ivanov contribute 1 apiece. Colby Peters and Drew Gibson each scored runs as well for the Bulldogs! The team takes the field again Thursday for the next round in the tournament. Good Luck Guys!

In yesterday’s semi-final softball game, the Bolles bats came alive late. After trailing by scores of 6-1 and then 9-3, behind the strong hitting of Sarah Bates, Emily Johns, and Gina Lambiase Bolles pushed the score to 9-7. A strengthening defense highlighted by nice scrambling catches by Emily Johns and Leah Jimenez looked to be able to hold the opponent within reach, but that was not to be the case. In the end, we went down to a strong Providence team, 12-7. Although the ending was a little bitter, the team’s overall record this year was an outstanding 10 and 4—so, congratulations on a great season, girls!

WOW! The baseball team finished the regular season with a 7 game winning streak by putting down a stubborn ACD team Thursday by a final score of 13 to 4! The team notched its 10th win of the season and they have been fun to watch as a great group of guys who have found out what working together and team work is all about! Tournament play begins Monday night versus Mandarin Christian with high hopes of continuing the winning ways. Good Luck Guys!

State French competition was held in Orlando on April 3rd through 5th. Our team was made up of 19 Bolles students, most of them from the high school. Two middle schools students attended. Rebecca Quin chose to recite a poem in French for which she earned a Superior blue ribbon. Caitlin Putnal did Reading Comprehension. She earned an Excellent red ribbon. Over 50 schools competed. Our team placed 2nd in their division and 5th overall.
