Cookout for Students

Students will be treated to a special lunch on Friday, May 9. Parent volunteers are needed to cook and serve hamburgers and hot dogs between 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on May 9. If you can help cook, please give the office a call. Pre-Kindergarten will eat at 11:30, students in Kindergarten-Grade 3 at noon, and Grades 4-5 at 12:30. Mark your calendar and come help us cook or serve, rain or shine!

Testing Week

May 5 – May 9 is testing week in Kindergarten and Grades 2 -5 in lower school. Please help your child by making sure they get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time. Many thanks!

Dress Code Variation for Last Day of School on May 30

On the last day of school, Friday, May 30, students in PreK-Grade 4 may wear shirts and shorts that are neat, clean, and appropriate for school (no denim). Grade 5 will have a special dress variation for May 30. Early Dismissal on Last Day of School – May 30

The last day of school, May 30, will be an early dismissal. Pre-K and Kindergarten will dismiss at 11:30, Grades 1-3 at 11:40, and Grades 4-5 at 11:45. Families with siblings who have different dismissal times will dismiss at the earliest time. Thank you in advance for making arrangements for our early dismissal.
There will be no extended day on May 30.

Summer Review

Students entering Grades 1 – 5 in the fall will have the opportunity to review Language Arts and Math Skills during the summer. The Language Arts review will consist of a student workbook which will be distributed to students the week of May 19. These are designed to be used three times a week for 15 minutes.

Math Activities will be available weekly online! Important details regarding access to these grade level skills will be sent home the week of May 19 also.

Uniform Recycle Sale – May 31

The Uniform Recycle Sale is an excellent way to save $$ by purchasing recycled uniforms for your student(s)!   Packets containing instructions, tags, and inventory sheets to prepare your clothing for the Uniform Recycle Sale will be available in the lower school office beginning Monday, May 12.  Only items that have been purchased through Sunshine School Uniforms or that have a Bolles Logo (purchased through the Campus Store) will be accepted for the Uniform Recycle Sale.

Properly tagged clothing with completed inventory sheets can be dropped off on Friday, May 30, at the following locations:

1, The softball field parking lot on the Whitehurst Campus from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. (the items will be taken to the sale location at the Conroy Athletic Center for you!).

2. The Conroy Athletic Center (on the Bartram Campus) from 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

The sale is Saturday, May 31, on the Middle School Bartram Campus in The Conroy Athletic Center. 

The hours of the sale are:

8 -10 a.m.: Full price sale
11 a.m. – Noon: 1/2 price sale. 

Unsold items that remain after the sale are donated to charities in South America.  For more information, please call Kristin Heinold, (904) 731-5688, or Anne Hartje, (904) 733-6097.

Note:  Students will not be required to wear uniforms on Friday, May 30! 

Textbooks for 2008-09

Don’t forget! No textbooks will be accepted on Campus for buyback again this year. The end of school is fast approaching, and it is time to sell your textbooks. MBSDirect will again be buying textbooks. Please visit the web site for directions on selling textbooks. It is very easy and shipping is free. The more books we sell back the more used books are available for the following school year. Textbooks for the 2008-09 school year will be available online July 14.
