Student campers have been sharpening their technology skills this summer at the Bolles App Inventor Camp on the Upper School San Jose Campus. Under the instruction of Bolles computer teacher and robotics coach Mark Meyers, campers are creating the future by designing their own apps. Using Android tablets and phones, the young technology leaders are designing and programming apps using MIT App Inventor – creating painting apps, sports games and many other interesting apps. By the end of the program, participants were able to upload them and share them with the world.
"Mobile apps are a part of our everyday lives and having the students create their own apps gives them the power to make something they can use for years to come," Meyers said.
The camp was part of a full slate of summer camps and programs hosted on the four Bolles campuses in recent weeks.
