Water Filtering

6th grade water filter lab

Students tested the principles of water filtration as a part of our water quality unit. Students were required to build one water filter out of sand, gravel and a cup with holes. The second water filter designed and created by student groups as a result of group collaboration and ingenuity. Dirty water was filtered through each of the student created filters. Students had the opportunity to submit a sample from their original design into the “6TH grade clean water competition”.
